Your "WHY" section is so my "WHY" section. And I agree that the final Elena/Stefan scene felt really tonally weird. Just like ... how in the world did they reach that conclusion after the events of this episode? I felt like I was in a nightmare; I kept asking myself, you know, Is this really the last scene of this episode? What the hell is happening? What is life? Lol.
