#1 was unquestionably the only redeeming quality about that episode. These two were my reason for watching back then. Well, them and Vikki, so THIS SCENE IS PERFECTION. #3 is also one of my favorites, especially Stefan calling Damon back so desperately. I like how you brought up the switch because I really hadn't thought about it in relation to this scene. I think in many ways, it's easy for a vampire to not care about the humans he feeds on (hunter-prey dynamics and all that), but Stefan would never not care about Damon and this is far before he learned to pretend not to care.
And, yes, all the others too. The boys are too perfect. Definitely need more of them next year.
