You know that if Elena was acting all carefree and unperturbed, the same people would be calling foul at her for not being compassionate or whater. Seriously. I deeply appreciate the behavior-policing from every corner.
I had a History of the Occult teacher in college. He was bald and just constantly name-dropped himself as the *third* biggest expert of Alchemy in the world. How dull. My sympathies.
I actually do expect more scapegoating of Damon? Elena's now being terrorized by hallucinations, which means her distrust of both Salvatores will likely continue to happen, naturally. At least for a little while.
Stefan has been allowed the privilege of maintaining his illusions and still being the one everyone chooses. If this show doesn't fuck with that, I will be severely disappointed. I think we're seeing this happen already? That is, if the cure business is being set up to blow up horribly in his face. Let it happen, show.
